Women's Singles Preview - China Masters: Who Takes the Title?
The Women’s Singles category at this year's China Masters promises to be a thrilling affair, with a formidable lineup of top players vying for glory. The stage is set for an intense battle between Korea's AN Se Young and China's CHEN Yu Fei, both of whom have been in exceptional form this season.
Previous Champions
- 2025: Ratchanok INTANON (Thailand)
- 2024: Michelle LI (China)
- 2023: TANYA HEMANTH (India)
These champions have brought a wealth of experience to the table, but this year's tournament will test their mettle against newer contenders.
Form Guide
Leading into the China Masters, Ratchanok INTANON continues her dominant streak with 69 match wins and five titles in 2026. However, CHEN Yu Fei, who is currently ranked fourth globally, has been particularly impressive this season, boasting an unbeaten record of seven finals appearances.
Key Clash to Watch
The quarterfinals or semifinals could see a rematch between CHEN Yu Fei and Ratchanok INTANON, both of whom have an impeccable head-to-head record. INTANON leads 7-1 in their last eight tracked events, making this clash a true battle of the best.
🔮 Our Prediction
CHEN Yu Fei is the bold pick to lift the title. While INTANON has the edge in recent history, CHEN’s consistent form and current world ranking suggest she will have the upper hand on her home turf. Her strong psychological resilience and technical prowess are well-suited for high-pressure situations like this.
Dark Horses
1. Putri Kusuma WARDANI: With a solid track record and excellent recent performances, the Indonesian star could make a surprising run to the finals.
2. Akane YAMAGUCHI: Despite her current ranking, Japan's Akane has shown flashes of brilliance this season and could upset the odds with a strong showing in Shenzhen.
The China Masters is set for an unforgettable battle, with CHEN Yu Fei poised to claim her second title if she can navigate through the formidable field.
