Christina MARGARITIDOU vs Simay MEHMEDOVA — Championship Final, Hellas U17 International 2026

Simay Mehmedova secured the women's singles crown at the Hellas U17 International 2026 on Sunday, overcoming a first-game deficit to defeat Christina Margaritidou 16-21, 21-18, 21-13.

The Greek shuttler started strongly, controlling the pace and exploiting unforced errors to take the opening game. However, Mehmedova adjusted her tactics in the second, extending the rally lengths and forcing Margaritidou into defensive clears. Regaining control of the net area, the eventual champion capitalized on precise placement of the shuttlecock to level the match.

In the decider, physical endurance proved decisive. Mehmedova maintained a high tempo, establishing an early lead and neutralizing her opponent’s attacking shots with disciplined racket work. After dropping the first game, the title-winning shuttler closed out the three-game encounter comfortably, sealing the victory as Margaritidou sent a final defensive lift long.
